JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description The Target Salary Range for this position is: $49,000-$59,000 This position performs environmental services support, including variety of cleaning tasks such as, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning carpets, setting fireplaces, moving furniture, conducting trash removal and cleaning and maintaining equipment, in addition to occasionally setting up rooms for events in the Senate wing of the U.S. Capitol building. These tasks are accomplished both individually and as a team depending on the general direction of a Team Leader. This is highly sensitive work requiring superior etiquette and professionalism. The role requires interaction with Senate offices, as well as several supporting departments. Work is performed overnight, typically from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
Key Accountabilities/Essential Job Duties
Sets up rooms for meetings, conferences, and banquets on a regular basis. Moves furniture, materials, and supplies using appropriate equipment. Cleans and restocks public restrooms. Cleans offices, including kitchenettes, fireplaces, and private restrooms. Removes trash from public and private areas of the Senate side of the Capitol; transports trash to collection site. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
To be employed by a Senate employing office in a paid position in the continental United States an individual must:
1. Be a U.S. citizen;
2. Be lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B);
3. Be (i) admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157 or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1158 and (ii) have filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible; or
4. Owe allegiance to the U.S. (i.e., qualify as a non-citizen U.S. national under federal law).
