Chairman Ted Cruz seeks a conservative general counsel or deputy general counsel to join the Republican staff of the Senate Commerce Committee. Qualified applicants are required to have significant knowledge of Senate legislative procedure. Primary tasks will include oversight of agencies and nominations under the Committee’s jurisdiction; legislative drafting; and generally advising the Chairman and staff on parliamentary matters. Duties also include coordinating and collaborating with other committees and congressional staff and executive branch agencies. This job demands a candidate who possesses an excellent work ethic and is not afraid of Hill hours. They must also have clear and concise communication abilities, exceptional writing skills, strong attention to detail, and an ability to meet deadlines. Previous Hill or related agency experience is required.
