What are the responsibilities and job description for the LEGISLATIVE AIDE position at United States Senate?
The Office of Senator Richard Blumenthal seeks a Legislative Aide to work on policy relating to defense, foreign affairs, and defense appropriations. The successful candidate will directly liaise with defense stakeholders, regularly organize meetings with constituent groups and outside experts, draft memos and talking points for the Senator, attend briefings, and summarize materials for the Defense and Foreign Policy Team. The Legislative Aide will be responsible for managing constituent correspondence in the assigned issue areas. Qualified applicants will excel at handling multiple responsibilities at one time. Must possess strong writing and interpersonal skills. This is not an entry level position; applicants will have at least one year of Hill or related experience. Connecticut and military ties are strongly preferred. This position is required to work in the Washington D.C. office.
