The Sergeant at Arms is seeking a Network Specialist to join our Network Infrastructure department. In this role, you will install, analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain the integrity of the Senate campus Fiber and data network.
Work involves acting as a technical lead for fiber optic cabling projects, and actively participating on group or joint task force assignments. Incumbents provide infrastructure support for the existing fiber optical plant and data network systems within the campus network. The position is also responsible for providing basic data network support, and troubleshooting for local LAN and campus LAN problems.
The successful applicant must be able to work independently and be an effective team member. The position requires solid fiber optic analytical and technical skills, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects is a must, and effective verbal and written communications is necessary.
