What are the responsibilities and job description for the Northern Michigan Regional Coordinator position at United States Senate?
U.S. Senator Gary C. Peters seeks a highly-motivated, organized Regional Coordinator for his Northern MI Regional Office located in Traverse City, Michigan. Working with the Senator’s Northern MI Regional Director, the Regional Coordinator’s primary duty is handling office administrative tasks, including among other things, answering phones, opening mail, drafting and coordinating correspondence, and managing the office’s internship program. The Regional Coordinator also assists with representing the Senator at meetings and public events, as assigned by the Regional Director. The position requires some travel to communities throughout Northern MI. This includes occasional meetings and events during evenings and weekends.
The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, flexible, able to multitask and prioritize, and works well under pressure. The candidate should have familiarity with the region and an interest in constituent services and public policy. A background or experience with government or customer service is preferred, and strong writing and grammar skills are a must. To be successful, the candidate should be both self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working as part of a large, highly-coordinated team.
