What are the responsibilities and job description for the OPERATIONS MANAGER position at United States Senate?
Rules Committee Ranking Member Alex Padilla is seeking candidates to help manage operations and oversight matters within the Committee’s jurisdiction. Reporting to the Chief of Operations, key responsibilities include managing Committee operations, Member services, and serving as a liaison for the Committee with other Senate offices on a range of administrative and operations matters, including closely coordinating with legislative branch support agencies such as the Sergeant at Arms and Architect of the Capitol. Responsibilities also include providing high quality written materials including meeting memos, decision memos and correspondence as well as assisting in oversight with other entities under the Committee’s jurisdiction like the Library of Congress and Government Publishing Office. Strong candidates will have outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, close attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team to assist with the development of oversight initiatives (including policy positions) in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Previous operations or administrative experience is required, and prior Capitol Hill experience is preferred.
