Job Summary
A key component of our maintenance forces, the Maintenance Technician Electrical requires a skilled individual to ensure our continued success as a leading steel producer. This role involves performing electrical maintenance functions using standard and specialized tools and equipment to maintain operating and service equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and operate a range of electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems and equipment using schematics, AC/DC systems, and PLC's.
- Assist with operating functions as necessary.
- Work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively with other maintenance technicians.
Requirements
A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing and/or industrial experience, including relevant experience gained in military service, or equivalent education is required. This includes:
- Industrial electronics
- Motors and controls
- Schematics and electrical power
- Print reading
- Computers and PLC's
- Electronics
- AC/DC theory
- Power
- Test instruments and instrumentation
- Electrical maintenance
- Commercial construction and installation
Working Conditions
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing. The position requires rotating 8-hour shift work, which may include Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays. Overtime work may be required as needed.
