We currently have an opening for a Software Engineer in the Process Control Division, located at the Mon Valley Works Irvin Works plant. As an integral part of this highly skilled, innovative team, you will play a significant role in supporting our digital transformation and system modernization strategy while providing critical services to our production operations. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of digital solutions and process control systems.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and support our digital transformation
- Contribute to our digital transformation by participating in the design, development, configuration, and deployment of digital solutions
- Participate in, and / or lead high impact projects that provide financial benefits and result in improvements to safety, quality, and / or production yield
- Work closely with the operations teams to understand requirements and identify improvement opportunities; translate into project specifications, including work estimates and forecasted benefits
- Design and maintain highly available and error resistant applications and systems that support Edgar Thomson Operations
- Play a key role in the new design and maintenance of modern supervisory systems
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associate degree plus 5 years' experience.
- Bachelor's Degree plus 1 or 2 years' experience
- Software Engineer / Developer with minimum of 1-2 years of experience developing in Java, C, C#, R, and/or Python. Knowledge of the Visual Studio IDE. Comfortable with both Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Development experience in Ignition a plus
- Experience with Tableau a plus
- Experience with SQL and Oracle a plus
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting a plus
PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Effective oral and verbal communication, team player
- Initiative to generate improvement ideas
- Motivation to maintain a high level of productivity and self-direction
- Desire to learn established systems for purposes of modernization and support
