The Salvage Team Member is responsible for repackaging damaged product that can be salvaged for shipping.
Key Responsibilities
- Repackaging any damaged product that can be salvaged and restored to shippable conditions
- Return recouped product back to stock in warehouse
- Clean and maintain area from spills and keep a safe work environment
- Occasional laborer for inbound rail cars
- Safely operate forklift, pallet jack, and baler
- Remove debris from trailers including plastic wrap, cardboard, packer boxes and trash
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
- Ability to perform simple math calculations
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift
- Ability to load/unload, lift/move equipment/product which may weigh up to 100 pounds
- Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools
- Safely operating and maneuvering around other Team Members and 2,500-9,000 pound pallet jacks and fork lifts.
- Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
