Aide

USPI GAB Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated Aide to join our team. We have 1 OR room and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

Job Summary : Under the supervision of a nurse provides safe and professional care for patients in recovery.

Responsibilities :

• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Adheres to all HIPPA rules / regulations.
• Monitor patient vital signs, breathing, alertness, awareness following the procedure and identifies any changes in status, reporting to a nurse on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
• Assist nurse in admitting / discharging patient; (assistance walking to the bathroom and getting redressed).
• Notifies family when the physician is ready to discuss finding of the procedure.
• Communicates with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Ensure patient understands post-op instructions and receives nurse’s direction on any uncertainties
• Performs necessary cleaning after each patient.
• Conducts post-op phone call and patient satisfaction surveys and documents patient contact in patient chart.
• Stores, handles and transport oxygen cylinders.
• Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
• Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of break room supplies notify the Administrative Assistant if in need of additional supplies.
• May perform other tasks as assigned.
