SurgCenter of Greater Jacksonville is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team.
The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation.
Duties :
- Daily management of the instrument room.
- Maintains the inventory of instrumentation and supplies necessary for the smooth functioning of the instrument room.
- Communicates and works effectively with all personnel, physicians, and hospital departments.
- Seeks continued growth and education.
- Sterilize instruments, equipment, utensils, linen and supplies using various types of autoclaves and aerator
- Assemble and wrap material, instruments and supplies according to established aseptic technique.
- Pulls supplies and instruments for all surgical cases.
- Disassemble and clean equipment using approved disinfectants, detergents, soaps and cleaners.
- Reassembles equipment after cleaning and operates to test for proper functioning; replace lost or damaged parts.
Required Skills :
- Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years’ experience as Instrument Room Technician.
- Experience with all types of sterilizers.
- Knows operating room instrumentation.
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
- Understands operation of steam / gravity sterilizer.
- Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
