We are currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our Imaging Department team.
The Imaging Medical Assistant has the following responsibilities :
- Check vitals before / after all procedural patients
- Post care instructions after all procedural patients
- Education prior before all myelograms
- Patient transport down to the car for all myelogram and oral sedation patients
- Prepare majority of the MRI patients and alert staff if / when there is a questionable implant
- Alert RN or Tech when an IV is needed
- Alert RN when oral sedation is needed prior to MRI and when patient vitals are not in the normal range
- Checks the validity of all orders prior to consenting
- Runs the blood sample for iSTAT for creatinine (IV contrast patients)
- Disperses all clean linens in the AM
- Stocks snack and drink supplies for the patients
- Checks supplies monthly and identifies expired supplies
Procedural patients include : steroid injection, PRP, myelogram, aspiration
