We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Anesthesia, ENT, General, GI, Ortho, OB/GYN, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee patient care in the operating room
- Act as a mentor and resource for the OR team
- Assist in the OR as needed
- Facilitate communication between surgical staff, anesthesiologists, and other departments
- Support adherence to safety and infection control protocols
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to optimize OR efficiency
- Communicate with physicians to resolve equipment or instrument issues by coordinating ordering or getting repairs done.
- Communicate with vendors and representatives for supplies, equipment or instruments that are needed for cases.
- Works closely with Materials and Sterile Processing Dept to coordinate supplies & instrument needs.
- Preparing and administering annual evaluations
- Prepare schedules in the afternoon for next day.
- Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferred
- Current Texas RN License
- BLS, ACLS required
- Three (3) years' experience in intra-operative setting.
- One year of leadership required intra-operative setting.
- Independent decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
- Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room.
- Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Shall be physically able to stand, walk, and maintain varied body motions and positions for long periods of time.
- Shall be able to move up to 100 lbs.
