Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Uptown is searching to hire a Full-time Patient Care Technician for the day shift, 7p - 7a.Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.Job Summary : Assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and / or unit.BENEFITSOur competitive salary and benefits package includes medical and dental insurance, 401(k), paid time off and life insurance.Required Skills : Position Qualifications :
- High school student or graduate or equivalent.
- Previous clinical experience preferred.
- Current certification in CPR
- Possess the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks.
- Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition.
- Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
- One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
- Patient Interviewing skills
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
- Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
- Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and / or infection control standards
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
