Status: Nonexempt - paid hourly and eligible for overtime pay.

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Team Member follows Standard Operating Procedures for wood treating, shipping & receiving and distribution ensuring tasks are completed safe, right, and fast. Responsibilities include operating machinery, managing inventory, and performing tasks to meet production goals in alignment with UTD’s mission, vision, values, and brand commitment.
JOB OVERVIEW:
- This is a full-time position. Generally, the work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 5:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., and may include some Saturdays. Weekly work schedules are shared in advance.
- Occasional travel to Muscle Shoals for training and company events is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Always adhere to yard rules of operation.
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
- Operate company-owned and leased trucks to place, weigh, and transport trailers.
- Complete trailer inspections in accordance with DOT regulations when hooking to any dollied trailer.
- Verify safety & accuracy of all inbound & outbound loads.
- Maintain adherence to appointment schedules and keep relevant records updated in real-time.
- Maintain inventory and address any discrepancies.
- Use Treat Right, Excel, Outlook, and Access to build and complete lumber treating processes.
- Set up, prepare, and monitor wood treatment charges to meet production and quality goals.
- Identify, pull pieces, package, and bundle lumber and non-lumber items per order notes.
- Propose and implement improvements to achieve key outcomes.
- Attend daily pre-shift meetings.
- Operate machinery per RWP, OSHA, DOT, and product specific standards.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot production-impacting issues.
- Monitor and report maintenance repairs and safety concerns.
- Complete administrative tasks, including daily paperwork using Microsoft Office Applications.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the department areas.
- Communicate needs and issues directly to Team Lead.
- Be on time and in compliance with the Company Handbook.
- Any other tasks assigned by VP of Operations or Operations Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift experience with UTD certification or the ability to demonstrate safe handling of forklifts in an on-site test.
Preferred
- Warehouse and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

- Ability to multitask safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, state/federal regulations, and RWP Operations System.
- Basic math and ability to read a tape measure.
- Product identification, property layout, labeling, and photo documentation.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, PPE, and SOPs.
WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift/carry 60 pounds or more.
