Working under the supervision of the Sales Manager, the Business Developer position is required to provide a pre-qualified customer to the Loan Officer team. Contact individuals by telephone or receive incoming telephone calls from prospective borrowers in order to promote and help sell loan products. The Business Developer will gather applicable information and verify certain details regarding the prospective borrower in an attempt to refer gain interest and then to refer them to a Loan Officer.
Activities Required:
· Answer telephone calls from potential customers who are responding to advertisements.
· Explain loan products and services.
· Remain patient and answer the customer’s questions.
· Make outgoing phone calls to explain loan products and services.
· Deliver a scripted sales pitch or adjust the sales pitch to meet the needs of specific individuals.
· Effectively handle customer questions.
· Obtain names, telephone numbers, etc. of potential customers
· Interact with Loan Officers and Sales Management.
· Attend Branch meetings or other meetings as requested.
· Submit Weekly Timesheets as required.
· Support the LO staff when necessary
· Remain proficient with loan products and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Successfully solicit the prospective borrower for loan products.
· Represent the bank in a positive and professional manner.
· Obtain applicable customer information for a quality referral to a Loan Officer.
· Pre-qualify the prospective borrower.
· Successfully turn the prospective borrower over to a Loan Officer.
· Maintain superior knowledge of loan products and programs.
· The employee is responsible for complying with the Bank’s BSA/AML and OFAC Compliance and Consumer Compliance policies and procedures relevant to their responsibilities. If the employee is not certain of what the specific instance calls for, the employee will consult the respective policy and will contact their manager, BSA Officer and/or the Corporate Compliance Officer with additional questions.
