As a Buyer, you are responsible for procuring goods and services for our organization by researching and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating agreements and prices, working with sites to drive product usage to practice-determined preferred product formularies, and managing vendor performance. You will also ensure compliant use of the supply chain information system (“SCIS”), monitor inventory levels, and collaborate with other departments to meet the organization's procurement needs. A Buyer must have strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively manage the procurement process and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.

You will also ensure compliant use of the supply chain information system (“SCIS”), monitor inventory levels, and collaborate with other departments to meet the organization's procurement needs. A Buyer must have strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively manage the procurement process and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide front-line procurement support, generally directed to specific region(s) but also including backup support for other regional procurement agent(s).
- General vendor management duties.
- Identifies, qualifies, and contacts potential vendors to receive bids or quotations.
- Participates in bid evaluation and vendor selection.
- Assists vendors with onboarding and site-level service protocols.
- Navigate practices through product shortages and allocations and manage UUG protocols in support of these efforts.
- Act as the department lead for assigned new site or de novo integration projects.
- Assist in the maintenance of supply chain systems, including but not limited to SCIS inventory, location, vendor, and item dictionaries.
- Ensures staff assigned to product ordering and inventory management are appropriately trained in the use of the SCIS.
- Monitor local compliance with company policies and procedures specific to strategic sourcing and contracting, capital and non-capital procurement, and inventory control.
- Manages product and purchased service standardization initiatives as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two to five (2-5) years experience in supply chain/purchasing. Healthcare experience not required but a plus.
- Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to other team members.
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Decision-making skills.
