Position Overview: The Senior Director of Engineering will lead the planning, engineering, and design of electric distribution systems for multiple clients across various geographic regions. This role will be responsible for overseeing client team administrative and business development goals while ensuring successful project execution. The Senior Director will also focus on process-driven strategies to streamline tasks, reduce duplication, and develop the team's capabilities. This is a senior leadership position requiring strong technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to resolve complex problems effectively.
Location: This is a remote role with up to 50% travel required to various client locations across the Eastern United States, including the Northeast, Southeast, Texas, and Northwest regions.

Role & Responsibilities
Leadership & Client Management:
- Lead the engineering and design teams for electric distribution systems across various clients
- Oversee the administrative and business development goals for client teams
- Manage and support the large and complex distribution design programs for EPC initiative, focusing on distribution designs, environmental permitting, ROW permitting and construction support.
- Develop and implement process-driven strategies in collaboration with Project Management and Clients to reduce duplicative tasks and improve team efficiency.
- Oversee the development of financial forecasting and construction timeline metrics for various clients.
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership, both internally and externally, to address significant organizational or project matters.
- Facilitate the realignment of targeted, metric-driven schedules to ensure adherence to task-driven models
- Recommend and develop innovative technical solutions, products, and standards in alignment with functional strategies and operational needs.
- Lead and resolve complex problems by applying technical expertise and industry best practices.
- Conduct research and integrate best practices to develop cutting-edge solutions for the engineering and distribution field.
- Develop a team-oriented environment by mentoring and providing leadership to team members, ensuring consistent professional growth and project lead development.
- Collaborate with HR and other internal departments to support and develop training programs for staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems Management (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
- Extensive experience (20 years) in electric utility distribution engineering, including leadership roles overseeing large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing business development and client relationships.
- Expertise in financial forecasting, project scheduling, and strategic planning.
- Strong ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, mentor staff, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical details to executive leadership.
