The Sr. Director, PMO position will report directly to the COO. S/he will have overall responsibility for working together with key stakeholders to develop the strategic direction of United Utility. This role will work to secure alignment between our strategy, business objectives, and initiatives executed to ensure that we do the right things in the right way and in the right order. This position will focus on creating alignment within the entire United Utility company, with a streamlined focus on successful project execution, profitable business, and customer satisfaction.
This role will be working closely together with all functions to ensure a coordinated and collaborative setting that effectively utilizes resources and leverages the capabilities within United Utility.
Candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and objectives and work closely with the United Utility leadership team to provide comprehensive, broad-based, and business-minded project management support for a growing T&D business.
CRITICAL PRIORITIES FOR THE Sr. Dir., PMO
Implement directives from the COO to scale the project management function to support all United Utility.
Will direct and lead all aspects of the PMO to ensure programs and projects meet organizational goals and requirements and implement processes for outstanding project execution.
Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership at strategic and operational levels. Coordinate teams to resolve project issues as the needs arise and ensure continuity throughout the full project lifecycle.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding leader with proven abilities to build and maintain a state-of-the-art project management organization.
With a minimum of ten years project management experience in the T&D Construction (or similar) space, qualifying candidates will possess a track record of successful effective project management. This track record will be within the context of complex organizations of scale, consisting of multiple business units across North America.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Accountable for the creation and maintenance of project management governance and standards as it directly relates to the PMO.
- Successful project planning and completion (i.e. meet the business requirements, deliver and maintain on schedule and within budget, delivering the expected business value and return on investment, as well as, managing any necessary recovery plans).
- Take the lead in setting priorities, monitoring, and evaluating our project management and business growth with the United Utility management team.
- Be a center of excellence for strategic Project Management (governance, standardized programs, project models, and tools).
- Define, launch, and support the implementation of standard ways of working, performance management tools, and techniques introduced across the company.
- Design and implement the operating cadence, including running meetings, project updates, and overall oversight of projects.
- Drives cross-functional planning and effective execution through the development and monitoring of fully integrated, project-specific timelines and budgets.
- Implement process to proactively identify and resolve risks and deficiencies that would prevent successful project execution.
- Keep stakeholders updated and informed on the progress of change programs and business transformation.
- Ensure projects are staffed with the right personnel with vital skills, experience, knowledge, and ability with regard to project management support.
- Provide mentoring and coaching on programs and project management.
- Bring innovative thinking, inspirational ideas, and examples to the equation.
- Define and analyze metrics that form the foundation of world-class execution and ensure the success of project delivery.

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- 10 years’ experience in business transformation, integration responsibilities, project management and leadership experience
- Experience as a project manager and driving business strategy throughout an organization or equivalent experience in transformation programs
- High skills in performance management and communication
- Ability to prioritize and make things happen
- Ability to bring clarity and efficiency into processes
- Well-versed in how business operates with financial acumen.
- Highly organized and analytical with the ability to manage workflows, data, and documents
