The Data and Evaluation Manager plays a crucial role in analyzing programmatic data, preparing reports, and guiding ongoing monitoring and evaluation efforts for various programs and coalitions within the organization. In this role, you will collaborate across departments and programs to support the organization in delivering high quality, cost-effective results that help best steward resources and achieve United Way’s mission. You will cultivate innovation and maintain a strategic mindset. Your ability to plan and align objectives with broader organizational goals will be essential.

What you’ll do :

  • Assist in planning, developing, monitoring, and evaluation for programs, coalitions, and grants.
  • Collect, organize, format, and analyze data from various sources to identify actionable insights for decision-making for programs and coalitions.
  • Follow up with team members to understand challenges and share data insights internally and externally
  • Oversee, create, and maintain data dashboards for programs, holding regular meetings with relevant staff or partners to guide insights and decision-making.
  • Create reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders using data to demonstrate community need, program impact, and strategic insights.
  • Develop and maintain data management systems, including databases and surveys, to ensure data quality and secure access.
  • Provide data for funder requests, grant applications, and reports.
  • Collaborate in the development of the organization’s Annual Report and the MVP dashboard.
  • Research and analyze community-level data to update and improve resources for evaluating local trends.
  • Establish close relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Contribute to policies and procedures for managing all data in a HIPAA / FERPA compliant manner.
  • Oversee relevant software licensing and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems.
  • Collaborate with Data and Evaluation team on projects that support the organization’s mission
  • What you’ll bring :

  • Two years experience with data management, analysis, and evaluation in either the nonprofit area or relevant public or private sector required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience with Excel, large databases, and data analysis systems.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Apricot, and Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Adherence to ethical and professional principles for data storage, access, and analysis.
  • Experience working with Protected Health Information, HIPAA, and FERPA preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, tactical, organized, autonomous, and quick to build rapport.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong experience in creating effective, clear charts and visual representations of data results.
  • Strong experience in preparing written evaluation reports.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment required.
