  • Responsible for accounting operations of United Way and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee core accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely processing of budget reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing, and payroll tax compliance.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with department directors and budget managers.
  • Oversee the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records.
  • Maintain a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
  • Enhance the accuracy of United Way's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Mentor and leverage the finance team's strengths, helping clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.What you'll gain :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA certification preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of progressively responsible work experience in accounting is required. Non-profit experience is strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a management position with a proven record of coaching, guiding, and developing employees is required.
  • Superior customer service and organizational skills.
  • Work closely with peers and staff members in the organization to bring both finance and accounting leadership and perspective and drive efficient processes.
  • Flexibility and ability to work and supervise multiple high-priority projects.What you'll receive :
