Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for year round relationship maintenance, growth, and new relationship development with targeted campaign accounts. May achieve this goal through such activities as meeting with select accounts and providing a variety of print/verbal information regarding United Way activities
- Collaborate with the Development team and other departments to meet annual revenue and engagement objectives
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, account productivity, and overall results; this includes providing ad hoc, progress reports and projections as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation of account activity and history in the donor database. Such as updating the donor database with campaign information and using campaign reports to provide analysis on company giving trends and churn analysis
- Represent United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County in the community and with assigned accounts via public speaking opportunities, face-to-face meetings, and networking activities
- Manage a portfolio of workplace accounts
- Set reasonable, responsible, and achievable goals for assigned accounts
- Manage 1-2 affinity groups by providing leadership, strategy development, and event execution
- Coordinate individual fundraising and assist in all activities related to Moves Management strategies
- Oversee the management of ePledge within the assigned portfolio including establishing the process for corporations, monitoring incoming gifts, and ensuring a smooth receipt and acknowledgment process, as well as collection and internal reporting of pledged assets
- Works independently while maintaining an understanding of cross-functional team dynamics along with the ability to facilitate effective interactions by working collaboratively with different departments
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all campaign materials
- Plan, execute, and provide follow-up for events led by Resource Development; provide secondary event support to other departments
- Provide support in conducting prospect research and identifying potential donors and sponsors
- Support volunteer projects aimed at engaging businesses and affinity groups to ensure a positive experience with United Way
- Perform other related duties as assigned and as new strategies and projects are developed
- Receive supervision and direction from supervisor
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree OR four years equivalent professional work experience in fundraising, development, sales, marketing or public relations, portfolio/project management or events
- Direct experience in fundraising/sales, marketing, volunteer engagement or other similar fields where relationship-building for solicitation , campaign management, or events were components of the position
- Commitment to the mission and guiding principles of UWABC and the ability to model those principles
- Technological proficiency with computers and software, including prior working knowledge of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and use a variety of software platforms and new skills
- Ability to learn and utilize CRM database
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills – public speaking, active listening and formal/informal business writing
- Ability to set goals and objectives, and use appropriate analytic techniques and tools to regularly update projections
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion and independent judgment and/or action in evaluating situations and making decisions
- Strong commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality of donor information
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Ability to communicate (oral and written) in English
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurance requirements and access to reliable transportation
- Bilingual, English/Spanish
- Experience with any of the following (or similar): Salesforce, Airtable, Asana
- Experience in health and human services development
