The Donor Service Specialist, Data Quality reports to the Director of Donor Services and Gift Operations. The Donor Services department, within the Finance department, is a comprehensive team that manages the ingestion of donor detail and the donors experience from their interaction with United Way in the donation process. The overall goal of the Donor Services and Gift Operations department is to support United Way donors with best-in-class customer service while engaging with United Way of Greater Atlanta. The relationships, processes and deliverables of the Donor Service department strengthens United Way’s ability to connect and communicate with stakeholders and enhances the organization’s reputation with donors, nonprofits and corporate partners through accuracy, transparency, and customer service.
Position Summary
The Donor Service Specialist, Data Quality position will focus on and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of the processed donor data across various systems and databases. This role involves performing quality assurance reviews and audits, maintaining data standards, and collaborating with different departments to improve quality control processes and data quality.
This position will be central to the quality of the overall processing and ingestion of donor data into our main donor databases including but not limited to retrieval of, reviewing, analyzing, validating data inputs while maintaining database standards. The Donor Service Specialist, Data Quality will work closely with the Donor Service Gift Operations, Donor Service Data Support and Office of Development departments to ensure data has been received in the correct format, has the correct supporting documentation, processed in the system accurately and to work through any issues found and drive them to resolution. Moreover, this position will be responsible for providing reports and dashboards to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance reviews on all processed envelopes to ensure compliance with data standards and requirements.
- Review and analyze processed data files, forms, supporting documentation and inputs into various systems to validate the processed data and research and drive to resolution all errors or inconsistencies.
- Track and report on issues, quality metrics and data standards. Including but not limited to providing regular reports to the Director of Donor Services and Gift Operations on progress and any issues of concern.
- Generate donation reports and dashboards for internal and external clients.
- Document and maintain standard operating processes.
- Assist and execute database changes. Testing systems when updates occur to the system.
- Analyze and review the current quality process and procedures - making recommendations for improvements and changes as needed.
- Automate and transition activities into low effort, reusable processes.
- Collaborate with team members to gather accurate donation data in a timely manner.
- Special projects as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree preferred and/or career-related experience required.
