Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Evaluation serves as a key member of the Community Impact Team, spearheading research and evaluation initiatives for 'A Home for All: Charlotte-Mecklenburg's Strategy to End and Prevent Homelessness.' The ideal candidate combines exceptional data management skills with strong public speaking abilities, creative problem-solving capabilities, and strategic thinking. We are seeking a passionate professional dedicated to creating lasting solutions to homelessness in our community.
Responsibilities:
- Lead research and evaluation efforts for "A Home for All," measuring community progress, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring accountability
- Collaborate with Mecklenburg County and City of Charlotte to identify data gaps and collect cross-sector information to holistically track progress toward ending homelessness
- Create accessible presentations and briefings on community progress, effectively translating research findings for diverse stakeholder groups
- Develop and implement evaluation tools and key performance indicators (KPIs) incorporating both quantitative and qualitative methods
- Manage external evaluation consultants, defining project scopes and ensuring quality deliverables while facilitating collaboration with internal teams
- Draft RFIs/RFPs with defined scopes and evaluation metrics, and support grant proposals requiring evaluation components
- Center racial justice and equity in measurement while ensuring diverse voices from nonprofit, government, and private sectors are incorporated into evaluation efforts
- Represent United Way at community events and stakeholder meetings, effectively communicating results and enhancing storytelling about homelessness initiatives
What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, business, or impact-related discipline. Advanced degree, beneficial.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in nonprofit organizations, management, human services or related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively plan, execute, and oversee multiple initiatives.
- Ability to present information and ideas clearly and persuasively to executive teams, volunteers, and the board of directors.
- Demonstrated success in collaborative work environments, group facilitation, and engaging leadership volunteers.
- Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Adaptability to change, with the ability to work independently and apply strong problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
