GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Director, Information Technology is responsible for the overall strategic planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions for the organization. This includes directing IT operations to meet the needs of staff, donors, volunteers, agencies, and call center stakeholders while ensuring the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of technology solutions and infrastructure.
Important Note: This position is IN OFFICE only, with the option to work remote one day per week. UWGC does not fund relocations.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Information Technology (Infrastructure, Security, Operations)
- Oversee the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, cost-effective delivery and maintenance of systems, including networking (LAN/WAN), voice services, servers, storage, workstations, security, e-mail, conference rooms, cabling, and cloud services.
- Identify security vulnerabilities and implement strategic solutions to safeguard data and IT assets.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies, including data privacy, backup and recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Lead vendor management efforts by identifying service needs, obtaining competitive bids, and negotiating contracts, including Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Manage the financial aspects of IT operations, including budgeting, maximizing ROI, and overseeing IT-related capital expenditures.
- Provide operational and compliance reports on IT service performance and infrastructure health to executive management.
- Respond to off-hour alerts, calls, e-mails, or notifications to ensure operational efficiency and uptime when needed.
- Maintain policies and procedures for the configuration and maintenance of IT infrastructure and assets, including desktops, laptops, servers, network equipment, and security systems.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices for technology use and risk mitigation.
Technology (Business Applications, Special Projects)
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of business applications, including CRM (Salesforce) and other enterprise technology platforms.
- Oversee technology-driven special projects, ensuring effective planning, prioritization, budgeting, and execution.
- Drive user adoption of technology solutions through engagement, training, communication, and support initiatives.
- Provide leadership for the IT strategic plan in alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain an overall technology architecture that supports business needs and long-term organizational objectives.
- Work with teams across UWGC to understand their functional technology needs and deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and impact.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including infrastructure management, business applications, and security.
- ITIL, CISSP, or other relevant IT/security certifications are preferred.
- Experience with CRM systems, cloud computing, enterprise software solutions, network security, and IT service management.
- Proven ability to lead IT teams, manage stakeholders, and drive organizational technology initiatives.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like.
- Occasional local travel to events within the regional area.
