GENERAL FUNCTION :

Manager of Housing Security will play a pivotal role in supporting United Way's housing security efforts. The manager will ensure individuals and families facing housing instability are supported through a variety of programs aimed at prevention, intervention, and long-term housing solutions. This position will oversee housing security initiatives; manage key partnerships with housing providers, funded partners, and housing security stakeholders; and provide direct support and guidance to partners and community members as needed.

United Way has a long history of serving as a backbone for collective impact efforts. This role will directly contribute to the success of those efforts by building and maintaining community relationships, supporting collaborative efforts with practitioners, leaders and families aimed to make a positive impact in the community, providing project management supports, supporting partner capacity building activities and data and evaluation. This role will work across several networks, including Project LIFT and partners collaborating to support improvements in housing security.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :

Initiative and Project Management

Manage initiatives and projects independently, including :

  • Tracking key community housing security outcomes and measurements to support continuous learning and improvement.
  • Researching best-practices, trends, models and other activities.
  • Collaborating with other staff to manage project level budgets and support / coordinate volunteers and corporate or community partners, as needed.
  • Contributing to and implementing rigorous project management practices, including documentation of projects and key actions through charters, SOPs, and regular evaluation.
  • Maintaining customer relationship management records (Salesforce CRM), electronic project records through Microsoft products (SharePoint, Teams, etc.), and regularly updating the progress of projects in a project management tools (Asana).
  • Reporting verbally and in writing regularly to internal teams, leaderships, and external stakeholders (including funding partners and other investors) on updates and project goals.

Community and Partner Engagement

  • Support efforts to landscape and stay connected to critical community partners and efforts aligned to the goals of United Way's housing security efforts.
  • Represent United Way at community meetings and events, as needed.
  • Support efforts to regularly gather input from community partners and community members to understand needs and assets across the region.
  • Support convening efforts convene regional partners on a regular basis including preparing materials, recording notes and follow-up items, and gathering / tracking housing security resources and needs.
  • Internal Collaboration

  • Support and contribute to data tracking and evaluation efforts for grants and projects
  • Internally collaborate with other team members and departments to deliver projects as needed and foster a culture of collaboration, transparency and accountability.
  • Support grant writing, advocacy, reporting and corporate engagement, as needed, to help to build awareness, raise resources and influence systems change.
  • Contribute to the subject matter expertise of the community impact team by engaging in professional development, research on trends & best practices in collective impact approaches and capability building efforts.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of five years in project management, preferably specific to social impact or collective impact in the nonprofit / human services sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute independently and work in collaborative settings.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and relationship management required.
  • Excellent team collaboration, problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and practices; preferred experience with project management systems such as Asana.
  • DESIRED COMPETENCIES :

  • Ability to create, grow and retain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills, makes decisions based on accurate and timely data driven analysis.
  • Understanding of systemic challenges and strong cultural responsiveness - including experience and comfort in working with diverse groups and stakeholders, especially across socio-economic, gender and racial / ethnic identities
  • Robust experience with Office Suite; preferred experience with project management tools or software.
  • Public speaking, interpersonal skills, excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • SALARY : $56K plus competitive benefits package
