POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide administrative support and coordinate the efforts of United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County’s marketing and resource development departments. Management of VolunteerLNK.org and coordination of volunteer engagement activities will also be a primary function of this position. This role needs to have strong skills in Microsoft Office applications and exhibit strong proofreading skills. High attention to detail and ability to multi-task will ensure success in this role.
ESSENTIAL ADMINISTRATION FUNCTIONS:
- Provide administrative support to the Resource Development team
- Manage speakers bureau process
- Maintain RD event registrations, process event payments, assist with event set up, track sponsorships
- Work with Data Base Manager/Trend Analyst to ensure CRM database is continually updated
- Produce reports from and maintain/update databases on a continuous basis (Direct Mail)
- Handle arrangements, notices and calls for various Resource Development meetings; assign and document meetings being held in United Way conference room or other meeting areas
- Manage mailings including, but not limited to individual and corporate thank you letters, direct mail requests, and leadership registry letters
ESSENTIAL VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT FUNCTIONS
- Manage VolunteerLNK.org volunteer site, this includes recruitment and education to non-profits as well as potential volunteers
- Build and maintain relationships with local nonprofit Volunteer Coordinators and Executive Directors to coordinate volunteer engagement opportunities for United Way volunteer events and as requested by individuals or groups searching for opportunities
- Collaborate with United Way staff to recruit corporate volunteers for United Way volunteer events
- Serve as point person for all communications to volunteers and nonprofit partners regarding details of volunteer engagements
- Manage records of volunteer opportunities and hours
- Assist with front desk coverage as needed
- Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Administration or Business Management preferred (or commensurate office experience)
- Five to seven years of experience in office management position(s)
- Self-starter with advanced knowledge of basic office administrative tasks
- Proficient in use of computers including Microsoft Office applications; Word and Excel experience required
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate other administrative staff
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to deal with public and business community in a friendly, positive manner
- Work well in team environment
