About JAG Nebraska:
Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG Nebraska) is dedicated to empowering students with the personal and professional development skills and support to achieve success in high school graduation, further-education and employment following high school graduation. JAG Nebraska programming is provided as in-school, for-credit class electives during the school day. Classes integrate project-based learning and employer engagement through hands-on, realistic learning experiences where students master up to 87 competencies translatable to the workforce. JAG also provides leadership development experiences through extracurricular activities which include student-led planning and engagement for public service and social awareness projects and activities in addition to participation in State and National JAG conferences throughout the school year. As a result of JAG Nebraska, students become equipped to contribute to the local community through attainment of meaningful employment and active civic engagement skills.
JAG Nebraska Data Manager Summary:
The JAG Nebraska Data Manager works closely with over 80 JAG programs to ensure data integrity through onboarding, training, coaching, audits, and reporting analysis. This position will be the organization's expert on JAG data and JAG force system – leveraged to answer questions and ensure optimization of the software platform for compliance, continuous improvement and fundraising. This role is part of UWM’s overall data team and contributes to regular public reporting for stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides virtual and in-person training and ongoing coaching to JAG Nebraska’s teachers to enhance JAG Force knowledge and compliance. This includes training on data processes, compliance expectations, and best practices to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Explores JAG data to identify changes and trends impacting community and JAG programming.
  • Evaluates program compliance as documented in JAG Force and provides specialists with supplemental training as needed.
  • Updates data processes to streamline reporting and compliance efforts.
  • Provides data management and compliance support to fulfill JAG-specific data reporting requirements, including TANF reporting, audit preparation, and national report submissions.
  • Provides audits and develops dashboards for the JAG Leadership Team related to program compliance, performance, and outcomes for continuous improvement.
  • Responds to targeted and short-notice data requests for information from diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Pro-actively collects and analyzes information for diverse stakeholder groups; providing timely and accurate data reports neatly packaged to enhance understanding and build confidence in the program.
  • Interprets, synthesizes, and communicates research findings – providing recommendations for improvement, identifying expansion opportunities, and sharing implications for future operations.
  • Develops standard and ad-hoc reports, data visualizations, written reports, and presentations.
  • Ensures projects, findings, methodology, and deliverables maintain consistency with UWM data practices.
  • Participates in JAG National and JAG Nebraska training opportunities and conferences.
  • Assists with the coordination of JAG Nebraska events, both for students and teachers.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-profile environment – with 4 days a week in the office.
  • Must be detail-oriented and incredibly thorough to maintain data integrity.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to include charts, graphs, pivot tables, complex formulas, data validation, and conditional formatting.
  • Must have proven experience with JAG Force, Salesforce, or similar case management, CRM, database or reporting systems, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master complex software platforms. Should be able to not only navigate the system fluently but also train others in its use.
  • Must possess fluency using descriptive statistics, including measures of trends, variability, and data visualization. Experience with inferential statistics and advanced regression techniques (e.g., multiple regression, logistic regression) is preferred.
  • Must have strong knowledge of research methods, including quantitative data collection, program evaluation, and survey design.
  • Must be able to enter, analyze, and verify data reports as applicable for integrity, accuracy, and various funding requirements.
  • Must possess excellent critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to find anomalies, patterns, and relationships in data sets. This includes the ability to analyze trends for continuous improvement and compliance with state and national expectations.
  • Must possess fluency in developing charts, graphs, and other data visualizations
  • Must demonstrate UWM’s Core Values in all internal and external interactions.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders, including specialists, leadership, and external partners. This includes the ability to effectively synthesize and summarize data for understanding.
  • Must have experience working directly with people and/or programs that serve diverse populations.
  • Must possess skills that foster and enhance collaboration across departments.
  • Must be able to navigate sensitive social, economic, and political circumstances with professionalism and tact.
  • Must have strong internal motivation to establish new processes and procedures, acting with patience where necessary to achieve long-term change.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, python, or others preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of three years experience in human services, non-profit work, volunteer management, customer service, or relevant organizational work.
  • Education may be a substitute for work experience if it is a master’s degree or higher and directly related to UWM’s 2025 goals and funding priorities.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
