Description
FT Life Enrichment Assistant, 10-days per pay, one evening a week, every fourth weekend and holiday
Position Summary: Engage with residents both one-on-one and in group settings, assist residents in making activity choices and support their independence, promote self-expression, self-determination, and self-esteem, provide opportunities for creativity, choice-making, and learning.
Primary Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement various activities for Health Care residents.
- Conduct group activities, including music, art, spiritual, sensory, physical, and special interest.
- Assist with daily transportation, communication, and preparation for activities.
- Use a Person-Centered Care Approach in all interactions.
- Document resident activities daily using Point Click Care.
- Adapt to the current activity schedule and be flexible with program changes.
- Communicate necessary details with the Director of Life Enrichment and team members.
- Training:
- Attend all in-services and required training, department meetings, all team meetings, participate in additional in-services, and attend monthly team meetings and quarterly all team meetings. Timely completes all required training.
- Customer Service & Compliance:
- Provide excellent customer service, maintain integrity, adhere to corporate compliance, and HIPAA policy.
- Time Management skills, quickly adapt to changes, be mentally alert.
- Flexible, caring, and ability for harmonious working relationships.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of three years or equivalent combination of education and experience required Long-term care experience preferred.
- Software Proficiency: MS Word, and Outlook.
- Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work independently based on learned responsibilities.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, imagination and a sense of humor.
- Multitasking and stress management skills are essential.
- Ability to maintain the strictest of confidentiality and respect for professional boundaries.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication skills, energetic with a creative problem-solving approach, can meet challenges with a positive attitude.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of output the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours which will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
