The Director position has responsibility for Capability Development activities specific to advancing AI based capabilities that drive operational simplification for how Provider Contract, Demographic and Credentialing data is loaded. The Director is responsible for establishing and driving deliberate, measurable improvements that significantly change the way internal teams leverage technology to aid in research and decision making – unlocking automation and empowering users to achieve high-quality outcomes. This position will lead from the front and design the future of healthcare today by delivering innovation that revolutionizes the health care experience.
This position will work in a highly matrixed environment across UHC Operations and IT to define, align and execute on Data, Technology and Process strategies required to ensure complete, accurate and timely availability of Provider data to downstream applications and processes. Position will play a key role in advancing strategic automation and ensuring robust business controls are in place to guarantee outcomes.
The Director will have authority to make decisions about product functionality, market need, end user experience. This position will work closely with the Network Management, Provider Operations teams, UHC Operations teams (i.e. Claims, Enrollment, Member Call, Clinical), and Line of Business product teams to ensure that the experiences that we are crafting align with the overall Product Capability roadmap for the Provider Operations Segment. Responsibilities include capturing and synthesizing the voice of the customer, who are affected by the decisions made for the Products supported by this role, while focusing on value generation and delivering high quality outcomes. Position is also responsible for collaborating across the UHG Product Capability model to deliver large scale cross-Product enhancements.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across stakeholders to formulate and execute a shared data management strategic vision that translates real-world Provider, Consumer, and UHC Operations problems into engaging products and services
- Lead a team responsible for creation of and delivery against the product roadmap
- Lead enterprise cross functional teams to support go-to-market strategies and initiatives inclusive of shaping and influencing technology, data, and process Roadmaps
- Coordinate with stakeholders to translate required business outcomes into optimized processes as a prerequisite to technology development
- Own relationship with Functional Area SMEs, sharing vision and insights
- Drive business work within the Agile process, sharing Business vision
- Define and prioritize Features that will be groomed and developed by Product Development in a matrixed environment
- Own and drive product outcomes at a Feature level, by collaborating in a matrixed environment on the definition and prioritization of Initiatives / Capabilities / Features within the technology Roadmap
- Work closely with Optum IT Development & Architecture and Business Teams to forecast and attack product-line investments
- Lead data management strategy and collaborate/influence business Product Manager/Product Owners to ensure user story alignment across multiple agile teams
- Develop, maintain, and evangelize product-line value proposition
- Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned; cohesive progress across multiple areas including technology, provider operations, network, experience, and service operations
- Gather, manage and prioritize customer feedback (stakeholder feedback, NPS results, quality audit results)

Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of product management / product development in an organization delivering software in a Web / SaaS environment with a track record of successful technology implementations
- 4 years Healthcare Operations experience (i.e. credentialing, contract / demographic data maintenance, provider search, etc.)
- Experience being successful in an Agile environment
- Experience collaborating across stakeholders to develop, communicate and execute a Product Strategy aligned to shared business objectives
- Experience in development and communicating Roadmaps of activities to achieve the Product Strategy
- Experience prioritizing work efforts across matrixed teams to manage the most effective delivery of deliverables on the Roadmap
- Experience communicating product capabilities and roadmaps to Senior Leaders
- Experience leading a team of direct reports
- Mastery of product lifecycle process and experience working with agile software delivery tools (CA Agile, AHA, etc.)

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
