About this Opportunity: Join our team as an Associate Director Biopharmaceutical Manufacturer Business Development and contribute to driving business growth through strategic partnerships with biopharmaceutical manufacturers. As a key member of our Sourcing and Trade Relations Business Development team, you'll have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in business development, negotiation, and relationship-building to connect with key stakeholders and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a business strategy that aligns with company goals and objectives
- Collaborate with members of Trade Relations, Clinical, Operational and Leadership teams to coordinate target drugs, operational changes, and RFI/RFP submissions within specified timelines
- Collaborate with marketing team to ensure capabilities presentations are up-to-date and customized for target audience
- Attend industry conferences to network with target biopharmaceutical manufacturers and represent Optum pharmacies
- Track industry trends to effectively revise strategies and refine Business Development priorities
Requirements:
- 3 years professional work experience in the specialty pharmacy environment along with business development and negotiating skills with biopharmaceutical manufacturers commercializing new drug products
- Individual contributor in business development sales relationship generating leads
- Experience understanding the clinical aspects of target diseases and drugs and managing a sales pipeline
- Biopharmaceutical drug manufacturer relationship management experience and network relationship skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop new valued-added specialty products for pharma
- Extensive specialty pharmacy expertise with the ability to effectively communicate and influence pharmaceutical manufacturers with proven track record
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
- Advanced interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others both internally and externally
- Experience working under tight deadlines along with excellent organization and follow-up skills
