The Patient Care Coordinator (Rheumatology) is responsible for greeting, providing excellent service, and valuing patients, providers, staff and others as the highest priority. It is the responsibility of the Registration Specialist to competently assist patients prior to and during their appointment by obtaining and updating the patient’s personal and insurance information into our systems. By serving patients in a professional, cheerful and helpful manner this position acts as a liaison between the patient, provider and other staff members to ensure that patients receive the care they need.

Location: 1650 Chambers St. Eugene, OR 97402. Training will start onsite at 1007 Harlow Rd. Springfield, OR. 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:30am-5pm PST. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pre-visit planning to include printing Pre-Visit Planning Tool for each patient, collecting appropriate outside records for in-patient or ER follow-ups, and review for quality metric gaps
  • Exam room duties to include scheduling follow-up appointments and assisting with cleaning and stocking exam rooms
  • Performs or assists in the performance of basic clinical and/or laboratory procedures as appropriate to the activities of the clinic and non-certified status.  May include administrative participation in vaccine clinic patient flow
  • Back up as needed in the clinic to include registration and scheduling, and insurance verification
  • Collects, verifies, records and maintains data on clinical activity; prepares associated reports as required
  • Maintains patient confidentiality, follows HIPAA and all regulatory guidelines to stay within scope of role
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1 years of experience in registration, scheduling or front desk in a medical setting, or general clinical/administrative experience

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with medical terminology 

 

The salary range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
