You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere in the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. This position is open to anyone who would work remotely in the U.S. The preferred location for this position is a hybrid work schedule in the Hartford, CT; Cypress, CA; or Minnetonka, MN office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Actuarial Pricing for Commercial Group Products
- Support all state level regulatory reports, surveys, audits, and filings as directed
- Provide timely and complete Peer Review services
- Develop an understanding of core actuarial concepts and their applications to tools and best practices
- Identify and bring attention to data issues and outliers in results
- Provide actuarial support to internal business partners (market leadership, underwriting, sales, product)
- Develop presentation materials and communicate results to internal stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- On the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
- 2 years of actuarial experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data
- Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Excel
- Proven clear communication skills, particularly in conveying complex topics to non-expert audiences
- Proven critical thinking skills that allow you to push through the data and find effective solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with healthcare / claim data
- Experience working with health plans ranging from small to large group
- Basic or higher level of proficiency with SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and/or SQL (Structured Query Language)

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
