Position Summary: 

The Technical Sales Specialist is a unique and highly interactive position dedicated to selling API, machine learning and large language models, and positioning our developer platform as a solution for product and engineering teams in healthcare. This position is responsible for providing all aspects of business development, from expanding accounts relationships to developing and closing new opportunities, as well as providing support for specific business unit products/services for the Markets/Business Units they serve. Territories are regionally based and aligned. This role will work on small to midsize companies or dollar-value opportunities.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote developer portal and marketplace API and models in the market to assigned territory and market segments
  • Meet and exceed sales revenue targets
  • Identify risk factors at an early stage, and take effective action to safeguard both our clients, and the organization
  • Manage multiple concurrent sales opportunities
  • Analyze market trends, implications and develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Build Sales Strategy and lead RFP, RFI, RFQ’s for new and existing clients
  • Work effectively within the matrix, promoting trust and communications across the business segments; collaboratively builds solid relationships.
  • Demonstrate Solid interpersonal and networking skills both internal and external to the company

 Required Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 3 years of sales development experience, business development experience, or a combination of both calling on decision makers and economic buyers 
  • 1 years of experience effectively negotiating, influencing and collaborating
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM (ex. Salesforce)

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience effectively messaging, positioning and presenting information for client impact and influence
  • Proven ability to operate and navigate in a complex environment with a high level of collaboration
  • Identifying Sales Opportunities
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Industry
  • Knowledge of Optum Clients
  • Navigating RFP Process

The hourly range for this role is $21.63 to $48.08 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
