As we scale and mature our National Shared Services Operations, there is a critical need to create a centralized user acceptance team that will ensure that standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of changes and subsequently improve the day-to-day operations of the organization. This newly created team will focus on end-to-end change management, including business processes, systems and application enhancements and user acceptance testing.
The Sr Business Analyst, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is accountable for working with project managers, product owners, and business operators to build user acceptance test plans and test use cases to support complex operational changes. This role will be responsible for understanding business requirements to ensure test use cases demonstrate a deliverable meets quality standard and is ready for field and customer use. Works closely with Operations, Application Development, and IT QA to ensure development and testing efforts are completed and meet all outlined requirements in the implemented solution. Continuously strives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Detail Oriented – Develop and maintain test scripts, using business/IT requirements to ensure system changes meet requirement. Create and present reports defining project progress, status, challenges and solutions.
- End-User Experience – Evaluate requirements for business need and optimal user experience.
- Relationship Focused – Works well with various departments throughout the company, including operations, product teams, IT, and local Care Delivery teams (CDOs). Provide project progress/status to all stakeholders.
- Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities, across all of OptumCare’s National Shared Services Capabilities (claim operations, prior authorization, payment integrity, provider data management, benefit configuration provider configuration, eligibility, etc.)
- Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required to ensure successful implementation(s). This will include key areas of communication, capability assessment and build-out plan, knowledge transfer, training and organizational alignment.
- Understand the approach, standards, and repeatable processes identified to support project managers, product owners, and business platform operators in building and executing business user acceptance testing plans and use cases across a diverse set of projects; serve as a resource to assist these roles in mobilizing their user acceptance testing plans
- For complex initiatives, build the appropriate testing plan and thorough set of test use cases to be executed by the testing analyst, product owner, or other team member
- Train product owners and business platform operators in writing user story acceptance criteria and testing use cases that reflect project requirements to demonstrate a deliverable meets quality standard and is ready for field and customer use
- Train product owners and business platform operators in best practices for logging defects to support efficient troubleshooting and triaging of issues to drive root cause identification and resolution
- Complete reporting templates to manage, monitor, and support prioritization of defects
- Verify story scope and acceptance criteria have been met by testing the change
- Lead daily progress meetings to keep up to date with team progress and issues
- Continuous improvement of the UAT testing and on-boarding process
- Develop a test plan that describes the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies and procedures
- Develop Component level UAT scripts and scenarios in support of component specific testing
- Develop data and systems needed to support testing needs
- Execute test scripts and produce documentation of successful or failed results
- Create and maintain a log that tracks defects to resolution
- Participates in enhancements meeting to distinguish between bugs and enhancements and/or escape defects
- Manage defect resolution and document successful test results once they occur

Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of UAT experience and change management experience
- 3 years of data management experience
- 2 years of work experience in a high matrixed corporate setting
- 2 years of data analysis and/or audit experience within the healthcare industry
- Proven ability to effectively communicate complex information to audiences with varying backgrounds in a variety of formal and informal settings
- Ability to develop and maintain effective and productive working relationships with all levels of staff
- Intermediate level of proficiency working with Microsoft Excel
- Intermediate level of proficiency in tracking, trending and reporting on metrics
- Ability to analyze testing metrics and trends and recommend actions to address areas of concern
- Ability to analyze information, establish facts, make assumptions, and draw valid conclusions that form the basis of recommendations to the customer
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to solve problems and achieve team goals and objectives
- Flexibility to provide periodic night and weekend support based on project delivery schedule and collaboration needs with offshore resources
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of data management experience, preferably in managed care
- Solid ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in a manner that clearly and concisely presents information, recommendations, and advice
- Solid functional testing expertise, with hands on experience on preparing test plan and test strategy
- Ability to develop Test Analysis reports and Test Plans for each testing effort
- Prior experience working with test management tools
- Medicare & Medicaid Experience
- FACETS and/or Xcelys experience
- Consulting experience
- Experience influencing others without direct authority
- Business minded and strategic planner with impeccable time management and multi-tasking skills
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives
- Effective presentation skills

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
