We are looking for an Artist Operations Associate to join UnitedMasters! Please note that this role is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.
What You'll Do
- Support Head of Artist Operations with the day to day management of operational procedures and workflows within the Artist Services Department.
- Analyze workflows on a consistent basis and propose recommendations to improve efficiency, productivity, and collaboration among teams.
- Track and reconcile all recoupable expenses for Exclusive Partner Artists and Joint Venture deals per product commitment.
- Prep documentation for quarterly and semi-annual royalty statement delivery, including cross-functional work-back schedule and recoupable expenses for Exclusive Artist Partners and Joint Ventures across the global roster (US, Brazil, and Nigeria).
- Review quarterly and semi-annual royalty statements to ensure all applicable assets and splits are listed correctly and that relevant third party statements are included.
- Manage third party income tracker and payment deadlines.
- Liaise with the Sync department to address music ownership/licensing questions or concerns for music licensing opportunities and track master side sync income for royalty accounting purposes.
- Maintain a database of artist contact info, music attorneys, managers, publishers, producers, etc.
- Manage and organize documentation required to release singles, EP's, LP's including producer agreements, side artist agreements, label waivers, sample clearances, etc.
- Implement updated methods to aggregate information shared by various departments within UnitedMasters Inc.
- Communicate high level information and status updates to senior and executive team members regarding licensing, royalty statements, artists' and artist teams' concerns/needs, release schedules, etc.
- Formulate and implement new practices and procedures that support the expansion of the Exclusive Partner Artist offering and Joint Venture business.
- Manage onboarding kick-off and communication for Exclusive and Premium Artist Partners and Joint Ventures.
- Process contractual payments for third party vendors according to agreement terms.
- Monitor recording and marketing budgets. Assist Head of Artist Operations with physical product manufacturing- workflows, project management, and logistics.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of experience at a major or Indie label or music distribution company preferably in operations, A&R, finance
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Monday.com and/or IronClad experience

Salary Hiring Range: $70,000- $85,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)
Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
The salary range above is for the NY/CA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
