The Pharmacy Counter/Fill Technician will work under the direct supervision of the Counter/EDK Pharmacist Supervisor for Unitedrx.

Work Experience:
- 1-2 years experience in pharmacy or related health care field preferred
Knowledge and Ability:
- Close attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Highly dependable in attendance and job performance
Location: Johnson City, TN

Shift/Hours :
- 9:30am-6pm
- Shifts/times can vary based on company/employee need
- Rotating Weekends (typically 1 Saturday or 1 Sunday every 4 weeks)

Requirements:
- Education-High School Diploma
- Tennessee Board of Pharmacy registered (must be obtained within 90 days of employment)
- Certified Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (preferred)
Counter/Fill Tech- Pharmacy Technician Job Functions
- Interprets a prescription label in order to obtain the correct drug, strength, and quantity.
- Packages orders, attaching the prescription label, as well as any appropriate auxiliary labels, in an accurate manner.
- Assists in finding alternative sources if a drug is not available.
- Maintains totes/bags for facilities in an orderly fashion.
- Fills orders in a timely manner, in accordance to our standards of service and delivery guidelines.
- Communicates with pharmacy staff to ensure timely handling of orders and daily tasks.
- Maintains, replenishes, and updates On Site Stores.
- Prioritizes daily requirements and use spare time wisely, maintaining productivity.
- Helps maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assists in maintaining adequate inventory for work area.
- Assists in efforts to reduce costs related to office supplies, materials, and work flow processes.
- Works with other staff to solve problems and create new solutions.
- Participates in organization meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Assists in operating automated dispensing system(s) to fulfill timely processing/packaging of orders.
- If properly trained, assists the Lead Sterile Compounding Technician in compounding sterile preparations and helping maintain the clean room per USP guidelines.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work off of a computer screen for the majority of the work shift
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others
