What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at UniTek Global Services?
Performing vehicle / van / truck / machine repair and / or maintenance work as outlined on repair order / request with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with site operational standards.
Communicates with Site Manager regularly to effectively manage productivity.
Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair, authorized by Site Manager.
Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of site vehicles.
Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
Providing exceptional customer experience to ensure safety and compliance standards are met

Qualifications : Education :
Associates / Vocational Degree / training or related mechanical repairs experience.
Position Requirements :
1 to 3 years' experience as a mechanic
Experience working at a high-volume dealership or retail auto body shop a plus
Experience with construction equipment a plus
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the organization
Must have a basic command of the English language to understand the safety requirements of the position
Experience working with diesel vehicles / machinery a plus
Soft Skills :
Maintains positive attitude and works well with others
Completes work accurately and in a timely manner.
Works independently and possesses good judgment skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt to changing environment
Physical Requirements :
Ability to work standing up for 6-8 hours a day
Ability to lift 50 lbs (tires / parts)
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
May be required to work weekends and holidays when requested (will receive appropriate pay for working overtime)
