What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Manager position at Unitek Supply, LLC?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Managerial skills such as motivation, encouragement, and ability to discipline with fairness resulting in a strong team and work ethic.
- Due to the nature of the industry, employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
- Required to fully comply with the rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of company vehicles and property.
- Must be able to operate a forklift, electric roller and metal/paper shearer.
- Must show initiative and willingness to cooperate with others in achieving company goals.
- Accomplish tasks determined by priority and as required in a timely manner.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Oversee review of job orders for the day, and anticipate needs.
- Oversee and if necessary, pull orders, upkeep of inventory, handle materials and deliveries.
- Responsible for overall warehousing duties, stock at hand, equipment, appearance, and flow.
- Engage in customer and vendor interactions and maintain sound relationships. Handle walk-in customers and will-calls and provide good customer service.
- Oversight of employee performance and management of department.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Basic written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 10 years in warehouse setting preferred.
- 5 years in managerial position preferred.
- CDL license preferred, but not essential.
- Forklift experience required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in the warehouse, both indoors and outdoors, which may include work in tight spaces, high heat, poor light, and other warehouse hazards. The employee will required to safely and correctly utilize Personal Protective Equipment and appropriate work gear. The employee may work alone or as part of a team.
