To perform activities required to construct, operate, maintain, inspect, and survey the Company’s gas distribution and transmission systems. Ensure that these activities are performed in accordance with Federal and State regulations as well as Company policy, Company procedures, and management objectives. To provide services as an emergency first responder to ensure public safety and protect company assets. Ensures the timely and accurate completion of all necessary records, timesheets, paperwork, and documentation for accounting, regulatory, and asset management. To professionally interact with customers, regulatory authorities, and employees to ensure the Company satisfactorily meets their needs.

WAGE: Ultimate rate – $25.46 per hour, for a 40 hour week. Overtime rates in accordance with Agreement.

These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- System construction (gas mains and related facilities)
- Service installation
- Construction equipment operation
- Valve inspection and repair
- Service abandonments
- Facility replacement
- Maintenance of Company Right-of Ways (i.e.,mowing and clearing work by hand or with mechanical equipment)
- Leak Repairs
- Identify potential corrosion issues, code violations, and needed meter protection
Damage Prevention: To perform activities associated with locating and marking the gas distribution system, including safeguarding company assets during third-party excavations.
- Utilizing the DigTix damage prevention ticket management program.
- Line locating and mark-out
- High-risk tickets (Watch and Protects)
- To utilize GIS/GPS mapping software and the gas CMS system in the execution of this program
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meter installs and removes
- Turn on and turn off gas meters
- Turn on and relight customer appliances
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leak Investigation (inside and out)
- Identify, classify and prioritize gas leaks associated with the gas distribution system with the main objective of ensuring public safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must accept standby on a rotation basis.
- Must reside within a specified geographic area and be available for duties during system emergencies.
- General mechanical aptitude
- Work in all types of weather conditions
- The ability to communicate complex ideas to customers and fellow employees in a professional manner
- The ability to recognize and react to abnormal operating conditions (AOCs)
- Clearly and legibly complete written, or electronic forms as required, including capturing GPS data
- To obtain and maintain a Class A Interstate Non-Restricted CDL within 12 months from the date of hire
- Must be able to obtain Operator Qualification (O.Q.) certification based upon the requirements outlined in
- DOT 49 CFR 192, Subpart N
- Will be drug tested under the PHMSA Pipeline Safety drug pool
