The Personal Banker serves as one of the Bank’s primary front-line customer service representatives and is responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers. They focus on building long-term relationships with customers, learning how we can add value to their financial situations, and explaining how our products and services can meet their needs which will lead to an excellent customer experience. In addition, this position will be proactive in assisting customers to adopt new technologies, while maintaining our high service standards, as the retail delivery system continues to evolve.
Principal Responsibilities & Duties:
- Able to open/close all deposit accounts, including IRAs; consumer loan accounts; assists with completion of branch scheduling
- Consistently executes and participates in the Bank’s sales process (sales meetings, check-ins, coaching, etc.)
- Understands the Bank’s products and services and is able to clearly explain and advise current and prospective customers on the products and services that are best suited to meet their needs, including but not limited to: checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, money market accounts, retirement accounts, personal loans, vehicle loans, small business loans, and mortgage loans.
- Identifies potential customers through networking, customer referrals, or other means and reaches out to them to present our financial solutions or refers them to the appropriate area within the bank.
- Collaborates with internal business partners to provide comprehensive solutions to meet customer’s financial needs.
- Promotes a level of care that makes customers feel welcomed, significant and engaged. For example, the Personal Banker role should be able to greet the customer by name as they enter the bank branch and direct them to the correct area of the bank to conduct their business.
- Performs daily administrative duties within set processing timeframes, like customer account transactions, accurately disbursing cash, processing loan payments, balancing, scanning proof work and other documents, and entering data into teller system
- Actively participates in a team of cross trained individuals that can perform all customer service functions within the branch.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and internal audit/control requirements for the Personal Banker role. This would include completing all required training, assigned, in a timely manner, related to the job function.
- Backs up other departments as necessary or as requested, to help manage overall efficiencies in the organization.
