What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (Residential, Part-Time) position at Unity Care Group LLC?
Job Description
Unity Care Group, LLC (UCG) is a premier service provider dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the State of Ohio. Passionate about helping our clients live full, inclusive lives that break the mold, we are expanding and adding new roles. We are looking for movers & shakers, advocates, initiative takers, and life changers. Whether your title is administrative, management or direct support, we believe every role is important and we couldn't enable our clients to achieve their best lives without everyone on our team.
UCG is seeking 2 experienced Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) to care for an individual in a home setting that has disabilities.
The client is a high functioning, social individual who has physical disabilities with fragile health needs. He needs help with meal preparation, and light housework. This includes activities like dishes, sweeping, picking up after the client. Personal care and activities of daily living. He likes to be a doordasher for extra income as needed, needs help getting to the grocery store, appointments and other activities. The client has requested male staff to assist him due to his size and disabilities, but we will consider all qualified applicants. The client can be inconsistent in his needs and schedule. This means the schedule can be inconsistent. Some weeks he needs a full round-the-clock care, other weeks he wants to be left alone and sends his staff home early every day, and other weeks he is admitted to the hospital and there are little to no hours during that time frame.
The client does have cats, and asks his staff that if he is unable to feed them due to a hospital admission, to stop by and feed them.
Because of the inconsistency in the schedule, we recommend that any staff be from Lebanon or nearby.
