Compensation:
- Hourly, non-exempt
- New hires can be expected to be placed on our starting wage scale of $25.77 to $30.29 per hour
- Based on performance, there is room to grow on our full wage scale of $25.77 to $34.81 per hour
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Job Summary
The HR Assistant is responsible for performing a wide range of confidential clerical and administrative tasks to support the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include:
- Processing employee status changes, new hires, and terminations.
- Maintaining and updating employee records in HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- Assisting with benefits administration including supporting and collaborating with employees, HRIS, payroll, and benefit vendors.
- Administering employee recognition programs, including birthday, anniversary, and sympathy gifts, and quarterly employee appreciation activities.
- Supporting HR teams events, meetings, trainings, and orientations, including material preparation, scheduling, room setup, food orders, equipment needs and serving as point of contact.
- Helping plan company-sponsored events and activities.
- Acts as primary HR support person for employee training software, including maintaining and updating user accounts, assigning employee trainings, updating training modules, and assisting users.
- Providing administrative support to the HR team and UCNW, including responding to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures and benefits received via HR helpdesk email address.
- Preparing the monthly HR scorecard totaling new hires, terminations, status changes, and open positions.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge at a level typically acquired through completion of a general studies high school program.
- Possesses specific knowledge and training in Human Resources, typically acquired during completion of a certificate or license program in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Certification in Human Resources, such as PHR or SHRM-CP.
- Minimum 1-year prior experience working in Human Resources.
- Human Resources Information Systems, especially Paylocity.
- Zoom video conferencing software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Outlook, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- You’re the go-to person for colleagues & friends for being computer savvy with the ability to easily learn new systems.
- You excel at multi-tasking while performing a wide variety of tasks within a fast-paced environment.
- You are warm, caring & helpful when assisting staff & visitors.
- You portray respect & integrity, easily building rapport and positive relationships with employees.
