Job Title: Unix/Linux Admin (RHEL)
Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required.
Citizenship: Due to agency and contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is mandatory. Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
System Management: Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Unix/Linux servers and related software using package management systems like APT and RPM.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and document system performance to ensure reliability.
Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues to support system uptime.
Backup & Recovery: Implement, manage, and coordinate backup, recovery, and failover processes.
Security: Apply security patches and implement measures like firewalls (e.g., iptables, firewalld), and collaborate with the security team on vulnerability mitigation.
User Management: Manage user accounts and group policies effectively.
Network Configuration: Configure network interfaces, routing, and VLANs.
Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain manual and automated scripts for monitoring, system changes, and procedures.
Technical Support: Provide user support and assist the helpdesk in resolving inquiries and incidents.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to support and maintain the system.
Requirements:
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance is required.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
Availability:
Ability to accommodate a rotational on-call schedule as needed.
Willingness to support a system with 24x7x365 uptime, including recall requirements.
Must reside within a commutable distance of Colorado Springs, CO, and be available to work onsite at the customer’s discretion (including during the transition period).
Experience: At least 7 years of experience as a system administrator on Unix/Linux systems (related experience is acceptable).
