1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Training and Experience: Minimum of one year experience in an office environment, banking, etc. preferred. Experience with computers and computer applications, adding machines and normal office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, voice mail, etc.)
3. Job Knowledge: Ability to analyze patient account information for patient account maintenance. Also includes the preparation and maintenance of reports for the account maintenance function of Patient Accounting (PA) Department.

DESCRIPTION:
The Patient Account Analyst position is an entry level of the Patient Accounting (PA) career path.
Responsible for daily bank deposits, lock box deposits, data input for payments and adjustments onto appropriate patient accounts and the processing and the daily reconciliation of third party electronic remittances.
The Patient Account Analyst performs one or more account maintenance functions. A Patient Account Analyst is internally certified in certain functional areas for UNITY HEALTH (UNITY HEALTH) Account Maintenance which include:
- Adjustment Processing
- Cash Posting
- Document Imaging
- Cash Preparation
- Hospital Account Maintenance Analysis
- Credit Balance Processing
Physical Effort: Sitting 3-4 hours; standing 3-4 hours; walking 3-4 hours. Moderate lifting of 20-25 pounds, 1-10 times per day. Moderate bending, squatting and kneeling. Frequent fine motor movement with both hands. Manual dexterity to utilize computer. Good visual and hearing discrimination. Moderate lack of control over pace of work and high level of interaction with patients and employees throughout the work day.
