Job Description:
Are you passionate about echocardiography and looking for an exciting career opportunity? We’re seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. As an Echo Tech, you will perform cardiac ultrasound procedures (e.g., transthoracic, transesophageal, stress) to diagnose and assess cardiac conditions. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality patient care through accurate and thorough testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques.
- Identify cardiac abnormalities and adjust examinations as needed.
- Assist physicians in the operating room by performing echocardiograms.
- Work closely with cardiologists to perform transesophageal studies and related tasks.
- Prepare patients, obtain clinical histories, and explain procedures.
- Perform daily maintenance on Echocardiography Lab equipment.
- Collaborate with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to maintain and improve quality standards.
- Support IAC accreditation activities as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques.
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to explain procedures and answer patient questions.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and patient confidentiality laws.
- Skilled in using medical equipment and computers.
- Ability to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited cardiac sonography program or 2 years of related work experience.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS within 30 days of hire.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification within 6 months of hire.
