Job Summary: The Cardiac Sonographer performs advanced ultrasound procedures on adult patients to diagnose and assess cardiac abnormalities. You'll utilize transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms to gather diagnostic information for physicians, ensuring high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of cardiac ultrasound procedures, from basic to advanced, and capture measurements for accurate interpretation.
- Identify and assess cardiac abnormalities, adjusting techniques as needed.
- Assist physicians in the operating room and procedure rooms during complex procedures.
- Prepare patients, gather clinical histories, and ensure accurate diagnostic echocardiograms.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring the Echocardiography Lab functions optimally.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure top-notch patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited program or 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience: Less than 1 year of experience preferred
- Certification/License:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer
