Job Title: Certified CPD Technician - Endoscope Reprocessing
Pay Rate: $45.08 per hour
Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Certified CPD Technician to join our team in Endoscope Reprocessing. In this role, you'll be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, sterilization, and handling of endoscopes and related medical devices. You will ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards to maintain the highest level of patient safety and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reprocess endoscopes and related devices according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards (AAMI, SGNA, AORN, CDC).
- Manage inventory of endoscopic and reprocessing equipment and supplies.
- Conduct regular safety checks on reprocessing equipment to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Disinfect, calibrate, and inspect scopes for cleanliness, defects, and functionality before sterilization.
- Safely operate automated washers, sterilizers, and related equipment.
- Ensure the integrity of high-level disinfection (HLD/S) during sterilization and handling of medical supplies.
- Assist with assembling patient-specific case carts.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and adhere to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in scope reprocessing, preferably in Central Supply or O.R. processing.
Certifications:
- Required: Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within 18 months.
- Preferred: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict protocols.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform fine motor tasks.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Exposure to biological, chemical, and physical hazards in the work environment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to infectious agents, chemicals, and variable working conditions such as wet, humid, noisy, and potentially cold or hot environments.
