Position: Department Director – Nursing Unit
Location: North Carolina ,Wilson
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
Job Overview: The Department Director of the Nursing Unit is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and meeting all internal and external staffing requirements. This leadership role ensures compliance with procedures and regulatory standards while managing staffing functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care, staff management, and an ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operations of the Nursing Unit to provide excellent patient care.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, procedures, and staffing requirements.
- Supervise and support nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Respond to patient and staff needs effectively, maintaining a high standard of care.
- Oversee staffing levels to ensure proper coverage, addressing any challenges in real-time.
- Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer to implement unit-level strategies and improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate's degree required.
- Bachelor's degree must be obtained within two years of hire or transfer.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ RN experience in a Critical Care Unit.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current NC or Multi-state RN license.
- BLS required (must be obtained within the first week of hire).
- ACLS required.
