Job Overview:
Join the Indiana Department of Health's Emergency Preparedness team as a Local Clinical Specialist, providing vital nursing care services to Indiana residents. This role plays an essential part in supporting the state's response to health emergencies, ensuring safe and effective patient care while adhering to infection control standards as guided by the CDC, CMS, and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care services to Indiana residents, following established infection control practices.
- Offer essential support during increased patient volumes, especially in emergency situations.
- Work closely with emergency management teams, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals during incidents.
- Ensure high levels of professionalism and bedside manner when working with patients, especially pediatric cases.
- Participate in triage activities and assist with emergency response efforts.
Qualifications:
- Required: Current RN or LPN license from Indiana or an NLC participating state.
- Highly Desired:
- Prior experience working with pediatric patients.
- Triage experience.
- Emergency response experience (including emergency management, hospital incident management, and emergency medical care).
- Strong bedside manner and professionalism.
- Current CPR certification.
